A Muddy Paw Pet Salon offers safe and gentle dog grooming services for pets throughout New Milford, CT, and surrounding areas. We have two convenient locations and groom to breed standards. Our groomers can cater to other creative styles to help your pup look their best. From haircuts, bathing, and deshedding treatments to specialty services, like reiki for dogs, we provide a wide range of services to choose from.

Our Services

Haircuts

Each dog has their own unique personality and style. We groom to breed standards but can accommodate creative styles when requested. Just tell us what kind of haircut you would like for your dog, and we will try our best to get your dog’s look just right.

Bathing

Your dog should be bathed all year round. Salt and sand can wreak havoc on a dog’s paws, and their skin also needs to be massaged to bring the oils to the surface. We bathe large and small dogs until they are clean, no matter how many times it takes. We use a variety of shampoos, including Nature’s Specialties, Isle Of Dogs, and Furminator.

Nail Trimming

Nails that are too long can cause pain when walking. It is recommended that nails be clipped every 3-4 weeks to keep the quicks (blood vessels in the nail) back and to make sure the dog is walking on the pads of their feet and not their nails. We do not require appointments for a nail trim service, but always ask that you please call us when you are coming in so we can prepare for it.

Ear Cleaning

Ear cleaning is essential for not only clearing your dog’s ears but also helping to prevent ear infections. Our ear cleaning services involve plucking the canal hair and cleaning with a soothing ear solution.

Teeth Brushing

Just like humans, oral health is an important part of every dog’s life. Keep your dog’s teeth clean, healthy, and bright with our teeth brushing services, which are available at an additional cost.

Dematting

We include 15 minutes of dematting in the base price of every grooming, but anything over that time costs extra and is dependent on the condition of your dog’s coat. Keep in mind that daily brushing is often all it takes to keep their coat in good condition.

Deshedding

Love your dog, but hate the shedding? We offer the Furminator Shed-Less Treatment, which can help to reduce shedding up to 90% by removing the loose, dead undercoat without damaging the topcoat. Our deshedding services are available at an additional cost.

Hair Dying

Make your dog’s style even more distinct with our hair dying services. With a variety of colors, all dyes are completely non-toxic and some are semi-permanent. Coloring results vary with the coat type and breed.

Retail Products

We sell many types of grooming products for dogs, including items from Nature’s Specialties. We also sell leashes and collars, along with many combs, brushes, shampoos, and nail and ear care products to choose from.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive method of energy healing that supports your dog’s overall health and well-being. Working on a physical, mental, and emotional level, reiki can help to reduce pain, support the body’s natural healing process, and even address behavioral issues and challenges.
